To create the AI-enhanced versions of my résumé, I used several targeted prompts designed to shift the focus of my experiences. For the marketing version, I used prompts such as “rewrite my Depop experience to highlight branding and marketing skills” and “adjust the wording so it fits early-career marketing roles.” For the operations-focused résumé, I used prompts like “rewrite these bullets to emphasize customer service, efficiency, and teamwork” and “frame my tasks in a way that fits operations or hospitality jobs.”

The biggest changes between my original résumé and the AI-generated versions were the emphasis and vocabulary. In the marketing version, my Depop work became more about branding, audience targeting, and understanding trends. In the operations version, the same job was reframed to highlight organization, workflow, communication, and customer support. Nothing about my actual experiences changed—only the way those experiences were presented.

Through this process, I learned that prompt engineering is really about clarity and specificity. When I gave the AI more direction—what skills to highlight, what tone to use, what industry to target—the results became much more accurate and useful for tailoring my résumé to different audiences.
